Indie developers and longtime friends Zach Northrop and Mason Sabharwal, the creators of The WereCleaner, have announced that Worming from Home will launch on Steam on September 4, 2026. The quirky comedy simulator revealed its release date during the Secret Sauce event after attracting millions of online views and earning a 98% positive rating for its playable demo.
Worming from Home puts an unusual spin on the work-from-home lifestyle by casting players as a remote financial analyst who is secretly a worm. Instead of walking around the office, players fling their spineless body across a cluttered desk, smashing into keyboards and office equipment to complete everyday corporate tasks.

Throughout the workday, players answer emails, fill out spreadsheets, take phone calls, brew coffee, and tackle a variety of office-themed mini-games.

Completing these activities earns rewards that can be used to improve the worm’s abilities and help secure the next promotion on the corporate ladder.

Life outside of work is just as important. Players can spend their free time working out at the gym, reading self-help books, shopping for collectibles, chatting with coworkers, or messaging their office crush. These activities unlock additional upgrades and skills as players work toward becoming the self-proclaimed “Worm of Wall Street.”

The game’s exaggerated physics and slapstick humor are at the heart of the experience, encouraging players to launch themselves around the workspace while completing increasingly ridiculous office tasks. Its combination of absurd comedy, light progression mechanics, and relatable workplace satire has already helped it build a sizable audience ahead of release.

Following the success of its demo, Worming from Home looks set to deliver another memorable indie comedy when it arrives exclusively on Steam on September 4.
