Focus Entertainment Publishing and Afterburner Studios have unveiled Elta: Defy All Gods, a new science-fantasy action-platformer coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in early 2027. The game was revealed during Opening Night Live, with a new public demo scheduled to launch across all platforms on October 1.
Players take on the role of Victus, an elite warrior monk searching for their lost god, Elta. After centuries of exile and suffering, Victus believes restoring Elta’s former power could provide their civilization with a path toward a better future. Accompanied by their dragon-god companion, players will battle through corrupted worlds while uncovering the secrets of a fallen divine power.
Elta: Defy All Gods combines free-form melee combat with fast-paced platforming and science-fiction exploration. Players can unleash lethal martial arts techniques alongside devastating magical abilities, with combat designed around fluid movement and large-scale encounters against groups of enemies.
Victus and Elta will grow stronger throughout the adventure, unlocking new martial arts techniques, magic abilities, traversal skills, and acrobatic moves. The game’s interconnected environments are packed with hidden areas and secrets, requiring players to master an expanding movement system to reach previously inaccessible locations.
The adventure spans three sprawling science-fantasy worlds, each designed around exploration and traversal. Players will need to chain their abilities together to navigate the environments, uncover hidden secrets, and progress through increasingly challenging encounters.
Developed by the team behind Dreamscaper, Elta: Defy All Gods represents a significant expansion of Afterburner Studios’ ambitions. The developer is drawing inspiration from both traditional brawlers and 3D Metroidvania games to create an experience centered on fast combat, movement, and exploration.
The story will see Victus confront the gods responsible for wronging their people and ending their civilization’s exile. Alongside Elta, players will follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, reclaim lost powers, and fight to create a brighter future.
Elta: Defy All Gods is scheduled to launch in early 2027 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players will be able to get an early look at the adventure with a free demo launching on all platforms October 1.
