Agate and Red Dunes Games have launched a free public demo for Blades of Mirage, an isometric action RPG that combines fast-paced combat, rune-driven character customization, environmental puzzles, and mythology inspired by Southeast Asian cultures.

Players take on the role of Mira, a wandering adventurer who must explore mysterious islands, battle corrupted guardians, uncover powerful relics, and solve puzzles scattered throughout the ancient landscapes.

At the heart of Blades of Mirage is its rune and skill system, allowing players to shape Mira’s abilities around their preferred approach to combat. Runes and relics can be used to forge different builds, giving players the freedom to experiment with strategies as they progress through the adventure.

Exploration plays an equally important role. Each island offers its own environments, secrets, challenges, and puzzle-driven encounters, with the game drawing inspiration from Southeast Asian mythology to create its world and its mysterious inhabitants.

The development team at Agate also used feedback from multiple rounds of playtesting to shape the current demo. One of the biggest additions is the option to choose between two difficulty modes designed to accommodate different approaches to the action.

The default difficulty focuses on precision and patience, delivering a more demanding combat experience. Players looking for a more accessible and faster-paced adventure can instead choose Casual Mode, which introduces features such as animation cancellation to make combat feel smoother and more forgiving.

Blades of Mirage combines action RPG combat with exploration and puzzle solving, giving players multiple ways to approach its challenges. From customizing abilities with runes to confronting corrupted guardians and searching for relics, the demo offers an early look at the adventure awaiting players when the full game arrives.
