Indie developer FlatNine Games has announced that Letter Lost, a dark narrative-driven mystery adventure, will launch on Steam on June 10 for $19.99, with a 10% launch discount available at release.
In Letter Lost, players awaken in an unusual setting: a cozy dungeon hidden beneath the post office on Kharnym Isle. Surrounded by cracked stone walls marked with mysterious scratches, players quickly discover that their new life revolves around a single responsibility—handling the island’s mail.
As the sole employee of the Kharnym Isle Post Office, your daily duties include stamping, sorting, and delivering letters and packages to local residents. While the work may seem routine at first, it soon becomes clear that something far more unsettling is happening behind the scenes. Leaving the post office is strictly forbidden, but with room and board conveniently provided, management seems confident you’ll have no reason to go anywhere.

The residents of Kharnym Isle each have their own stories, secrets, and mysteries waiting to be uncovered. Players can choose to follow the rules or take a more curious approach by opening mail that was never meant for their eyes. While technically against the rules, peeking inside letters may reveal clues that help unravel the island’s deeper mysteries.

The game combines postal work simulation mechanics with exploration, puzzle-solving, and branching narrative elements. As players investigate the post office and interact with residents, they’ll uncover hidden lore, secret pathways, and clues that could potentially lead to an escape—or convince them to stay forever.

Choices play a major role throughout the experience. Players can decide whether to obey instructions from supervisor Liv, who communicates through an old rotary phone, or forge their own path. Decisions impact how the story unfolds, with multiple endings, more than a dozen storylines, collectibles, and hidden secrets ensuring that each playthrough offers something different.

Core gameplay includes sorting and addressing mail, delivering packages through the mail chute, exploring the post office for hidden mechanisms and puzzles, and investigating the lives of Kharnym Isle’s residents. Players can also enjoy a variety of audio entertainment while they work, including eight radio stations and collectible phonograph records. Stations range from all-day yodeling broadcasts to themed music channels and talk radio programs featuring community members, streamers, and content creators.

A single playthrough is expected to take between 10 and 15 hours, while completionists can look forward to more than 20 hours of gameplay as they search for every secret hidden within the post office.
According to Harrison Wade, Co-Founder of FlatNine Games, the team spent approximately two and a half years developing the project and is eager for players to finally discover what lies beneath the surface of their “totally normal” workplace. Players will encounter new customers, uncover strange mysteries, and determine their own fate within what may become their permanent place of employment.
