Publisher CRITICAL REFLEX and developer Forest Reges
have officially unveiled SATED, a grotesque new cooking roguelike that made its debut during the PC Gaming Show. The upcoming title blends cooking mechanics, gambling-inspired gameplay, and roguelike progression into a disturbing adventure where players must satisfy the appetites of horrifying monsters or risk becoming dinner themselves.
Set within a decaying megastructure deep beneath a nightmarish world, SATED places players inside a moving tram kitchen that continuously descends into increasingly dangerous territory. Along the way, players encounter a variety of monstrous customers, each with their own bizarre cravings and unique preferences. Success depends on preparing meals that meet their expectations while managing limited resources and the unpredictable nature of the game’s central mechanic.

At the heart of the experience is a cursed, sentient refrigerator that functions like a twisted slot machine. Players spin the refrigerator to obtain ingredients, ranging from organs and insects to industrial waste, batteries, and even human eyes. Every spin is a gamble, and the ingredients received can determine whether a dish becomes a culinary masterpiece or a disastrous creation with unintended consequences.

Cooking in SATED revolves around experimentation and risk. The order ingredients are placed into recipes matters, and a single mistake can transform a meal into something cursed, mold-infested, or even alive. As players progress deeper into the megastructure, they can customize their run through a variety of roguelike modifiers that dramatically alter gameplay. Some upgrades can increase rewards and efficiency, while others introduce even greater levels of chaos.

The game also features a wide variety of monstrous customers, from angelic horrors with unusual tastes to terrifying aquatic predators seeking specialized meals. These creatures remember previous encounters and can introduce new challenges and penalties as players advance further into their journey.

Between cooking sessions, players will navigate branching tram routes filled with shops, special stations, modifier upgrades, and other events. Each path offers different opportunities and dangers, ensuring that no two runs unfold in exactly the same way.

SATED is available to wishlist now on Steam, and players can also sign up for the game’s upcoming public playtest. A release date has not yet been announced.
