Following its upcoming PC launch, RibCage Games has confirmed that Alpha Nomos will also be making its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later in 2026. The announcement comes alongside a brand-new trailer showcasing the game’s unique blend of rhythm-action combat, roguelite progression, and an atmospheric world brought to life through music.

Every attack, dodge, and special ability is synchronized with the soundtrack, rewarding players who stay in rhythm with increased damage while punishing those who fall out of sync. Players take control of Cello as she battles corrupted puppets across ever-changing arenas using musical instruments transformed into deadly weapons.

One of the game’s standout features is its Xyloblades, a pair of sword-like xylophones that play musical notes with every successful strike. Rather than relying on synthesized audio, every weapon sound was recorded live in a professional studio, giving each hit an authentic musical quality that blends seamlessly into the soundtrack.

The music itself evolves throughout each run thanks to a collection of audio-based power-ups. Effects including Reverb, Flanger, Delay, and several others alter not only Cello’s combat abilities but also dynamically reshape the game’s soundtrack in real time through FMOD-powered audio systems.

Set in a surreal world where time and space have collapsed, Alpha Nomos follows Cello as she journeys through abandoned cities and a corrupted circus in search of answers about a catastrophic event and the fate of her missing friends. The developers describe the game’s unsettling visual style as “puppetcore,” combining eerie clown imagery, deserted environments, and unsettling puppet enemies into a distinctive aesthetic.

RibCage Games says its goal has always been to bring the experience to as many players as possible, making the console release a natural next step after the PC version.

A free demo is currently available on Steam, giving players an early opportunity to experience the game’s rhythm-driven gameplay before launch.
