Developer BANJIHA GAMES and publisher Sandyfloor have announced Cold Case, a text-based detective game coming to Steam in the first half of 2027. Players will use digital forensics, keyword searches, and careful deduction to reconstruct damaged records and uncover the truth behind a series of unsolved cases.
The investigation begins in the burned-down home of police inspector Kimball, where fire-damaged documents and crime scene photographs hold the secrets to eight cold cases. As an investigator, you’ll search the recovered files for specific keywords, restoring missing text fragments and witness statements that could reveal what really happened.

Every recovered passage offers new information to work with. Restoring documents can also reveal hidden details in nearby crime scene photographs, providing fresh leads and new keywords to investigate. Each discovery helps piece together the sequence of events and brings you closer to solving the cases.

Your work doesn’t end with finding clues. You’ll also need to examine the recovered evidence and answer important questions from the Chief, connecting the information you’ve uncovered to determine the truth behind each investigation.

As the eight cases come together, a larger mystery begins to emerge: what happened to Inspector Kimball, and how do the individual investigations connect to his death?

Cold Case is scheduled to launch on Steam in the first half of 2027.
