Surviving the journey requires teamwork and careful management of the vessel. Crews must steer the submarine, keep its engine core running, repair malfunctions, and patch leaks while preparing for whatever horrors await in the darkness. Bioengineered weapons provide some protection against the creatures lurking in the deep.

Between missions, players can travel to isolated human settlements hidden beneath the ocean’s surface. Procedurally generated caves offer opportunities to discover secrets, but exploring these uncharted environments also means encountering hostile creatures. Some may even find their way aboard the submarine, waiting for the perfect moment to attack.

Online co-op supports up to four players, with proximity chat making communication an important part of survival. Straying too far from the crew means losing their voices to the surrounding ocean, while speaking too loudly could attract unwanted attention. Players can also try special modes such as Comms Critical and Silent Crew, which introduce additional challenges or place greater emphasis on straightforward survival.

For those who prefer to face the abyss alone, Magnavis also offers a full single-player experience.

Magnavis is coming to PC via Steam in the near future, and a free demo is available now. The game features English audio alongside support for numerous languages, including French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
