Mega Cat Studios has released a demo for Lethal Wedding on Steam, giving players an early look at the brutal action game ahead of its full release on Steam and Sega Genesis in early 2027. Inspired by the classic chaos of Zombies Ate My Neighbors, the game puts a decidedly deadly spin on wedding day disasters.
Players take on the role of badass bride Joanna as she sets out to rescue her kidnapped groom-to-be from a criminal cartel of killer clowns. The demo can be played solo or with a friend in two-player couch co-op, sending players through locations including strip clubs, shopping malls and other bizarre battlegrounds while taking on circus-themed enemies.
The arsenal is every bit as ridiculous as the premise. Players can fight their way through the clown cartel with weapons including Banana SMGs, explosive balloon animals, bridal bouquet mines and other unconventional tools of destruction. Joanna can also be joined by her mother-in-law as the pair take their wedding-day revenge to the streets.
The full game will feature more than 30 levels spanning weddings, shoe stores, clown drug dens and the circus, with players facing everything from psychopathic performers to bazooka-wielding bearded ladies and murderous mobsters. Two female protagonists are available, while more than 25 upgrades provide opportunities to customize their abilities.
The Vow System adds another layer of risk to each stage by giving players randomized optional objectives to complete before reaching the finish. Successfully keeping those vows can provide additional rewards, but failing them can make the game’s promise of “till death do us part” considerably more literal.
Players can try the Lethal Wedding demo now on Steam, with the full game scheduled to arrive on Steam and Sega Genesis in early 2027.
