Solo developer Syphono4 and publisher Future Friends Games—known for titles like Cloverpit and Slots & Daggers—have announced that Starvester will launch on PC via Steam on May 29.

Starvester is a short incremental game centered around building and expanding a factory that spans an entire star system. Players deploy swarms of drones to gather resources, steadily expanding their production capabilities while unlocking new upgrades and systems. The ultimate goal is to scale your operation enough to construct enormous megastructures powered by the energy of nearby stars.

The game blends active resource gathering with the satisfying progression typical of incremental titles. As your factory grows, new upgrades and mechanics open up, including a prestige system designed to keep progression fresh while encouraging players to refine their approach. The full campaign is designed to be completed in around five hours, offering a focused incremental experience rather than an endless grind.

Starvester also aims to create a calming gameplay loop. The movement of drone swarms paired with relaxing soundscapes is meant to help players settle into a smooth, meditative flow as their interstellar industry expands.

The developer has also emphasized that no AI was used in the creation of the game, highlighting a fully handcrafted development process.
