The Gods are hungry for ratings, and players are going to have to bleed, laugh, and die for their entertainment. The new demo for GodsTV, a chaotic action roguelite inspired by the energy of ’90s arcade games, is now available on Steam.
Developed by Barcelona-based studio Melbot and co-published by Midwest Games, GodsTV puts players in the role of a Contender competing in the ultimate televised battle for fame. The Gods of Capitalypse feed on ratings and reward the most entertaining fighters with powerful upgrades, weapons, abilities, and the one thing every aspiring star needs: Fame.
Each run sends players into the arena to fight increasingly dangerous hordes while attracting fans and building their reputation. Death is inevitable, but every failed run provides new opportunities to unlock weapons, abilities, Signature Moves, and upgrades. The ultimate goal is to rise through the rankings and claim the grand prize: Godhood.
The current demo includes roughly two hours of single-player gameplay spread across four levels. Players can choose between two Contenders, each offering a distinct combat style, personality, and story.
Kinni, the Stripper Berserker, is a former megastar desperately trying to revive his career after a string of failed comebacks. GodsTV represents his final shot at relevance, and his Heavy Melee combat style lets him make that statement up close and personal.

Leetah, the Lethal Popstar, was raised for a life in the spotlight but continues searching for her big breakthrough. Her Elegant Precision combat style allows her to dispatch enemies with speed, grace, and deadly accuracy.
Building the right fighter is only part of the challenge. Everything in GodsTV is essentially sponsored content, from weapons and Signature Moves to upgrades and Godskins. Earning Fame attracts better sponsors and more lucrative endorsements, while deals with the Gods can unlock even more powerful rewards.
Between battles, players return to Backstage, where they can sign new sponsorship deals, improve their builds, and decide what kind of celebrity they want to become. The world behind the arena is packed with eccentric characters, rivalries, romances, questionable contracts, and decisions that could make even the most supportive parent reconsider their life choices.

The Gods of Capitalypse are particularly important to the climb toward Godhood. These fame-obsessed cosmic beings are driven by greed and profit, offering powerful abilities, weapons, and Godskins in exchange for loyalty. Their deals can dramatically change a run, but players will have to accept that nothing comes without strings attached.
Players can also decide how aggressively they want to push each run. Reaching the end of a loop allows them to cash out their rewards, while continuing to fight increases both the danger and potential payoff. Successfully balancing risk and reward can lead to better equipment, new challenges, additional Godskins, and story developments that carry into future runs.
The game’s writing comes from the team behind Helluva Boss, with Brandon Rogers, the voice of Blitzø, leading the voice cast as the game’s questionable talent agent. The full release is expected to expand the roster to four Contenders, adding Pepperishi, the Pizza Shaman, and V1KTU$ M4X, the Totalitarian Tinker.
GodsTV is planned to enter Early Access on PC later in 2026 as a single-player experience. Two-player online co-op is planned for the eventual 1.0 release, with the launch date to be announced.
The new GodsTV demo is available now on Windows PC via Steam, featuring Leetah and Kinni as playable Contenders. Players can experience the demo and wishlist the full game ahead of its Early Access launch.
