Step into Nuevo Caracas, where corporate warfare and mysticism collide in a gritty, high-tech future.

La Quimera, the debut title from Ukrainian developer Reburn—formerly known as 4A Games Ukraine—is now live in Early Access on PC via Steam. If that name rings a bell, it should: these are the folks who helped shape the acclaimed Metro series. And now, they’re bringing their signature blend of atmospheric worldbuilding and intense gunplay to a whole new sci-fi frontier.

Set in the sprawling, war-torn Latin American megalopolis of Nuevo Caracas, La Quimera throws you into the boots of a struggling private military company stuck between cutthroat factions, rogue AI, and a collapsing world. There’s also a strange, supernatural twist bubbling beneath the surface—because reality isn’t always what it seems.

The story and world come courtesy of Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, The Neon Demon) and E.J.A. Warren, promising a narrative dripping with surreal tension, neon-soaked cityscapes, and philosophical undertones.

What to Expect in La Quimera:

    • Refn-Fueled Worldbuilding

A dark sci-fi setting crafted by cinema’s arthouse bad boy, Nicolas Winding Refn, and writer E.J.A. Warren.

    • Solo or Squad

Jump into the story solo or squad up in 3-player online co-op as you blast your way through corporate strongholds and jungle ruins.

    • Exosuits and Firepower

Enhance your strength, speed, and tactics with powerful exosuits, then mix it up with a deep arsenal of futuristic weapons.

    • Explore a Dystopian Wonderland

From towering glass monoliths to decaying concrete sprawls, the world of Nuevo Caracas is as haunting as it is gorgeous—patrolled by rogue machines and hostile factions.

    Why Early Access?

Reburn is opening the doors early so players can help shape the game’s future. While the campaign is already up and running, Early Access will expand over time with new levels, narrative beats, and gameplay improvements based directly on community feedback.

“We’re no strangers to tough choices,” says Dmytro Lymar, CEO and co-founder of Reburn. “As Ukrainian developers, resilience is part of our DNA. Launching in Early Access gives us the chance to build something special with the community—and deliver a shooter experience unlike anything else on the market.”

La Quimera is led by Metro Exodus AI and gameplay designer Oleksandr Kostiuk, and the studio is stacked with veteran talent from across Metro, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and other genre-defining shooters.
