Polyarc has announced that Moss: The Forgotten Relic will launch on July 16, 2026, bringing the acclaimed Moss series to PC and consoles in a newly reimagined adventure. Revealed during IGN Live, the release marks the first time the beloved franchise will be available on Xbox platforms and Nintendo Switch, while also introducing a non-VR version for PlayStation 5 and PC players.

Ahead of launch, players will be able to experience the game through a Steam demo arriving on June 8, just before its appearance in Steam Next Fest.

Moss: The Forgotten Relic combines the stories of both Moss and Moss: Book II, along with the Twilight Garden DLC, into a single package that follows the complete journey of Quill, the courageous young mouse heroine who must save her world from powerful arcane threats.

Set within the pages of a living storybook, the adventure blends exploration, puzzle-solving, combat, and narrative-driven gameplay. Players take on the role of the Reader, a guardian-like presence who works alongside Quill throughout her quest. This unique relationship forms the heart of the experience, with Quill acknowledging and interacting directly with the player as they navigate the kingdom’s many dangers.

The game’s world is a fallen realm filled with ancient ruins, magical secrets, and handcrafted environments designed like intricate dioramas. Throughout the journey, players will solve environmental puzzles, uncover hidden paths, activate ancient mechanisms, and battle enemies created from a combination of steel and magic.

For those more interested in the story than combat, Polyarc has also included a new accessibility option that allows players to skip combat encounters entirely.

Moss: The Forgotten Relic introduces several enhancements for its PC and console debut, including redesigned camera systems, newly crafted cinematic sequences, updated visuals, and platform-specific improvements. The adventure is also accompanied by an orchestral soundtrack composed by Jason Graves, helping bring Quill’s fantasy world to life.

With more than 160 awards and nominations across the original releases, the Moss franchise has become one of the most celebrated indie adventure series in recent years. By bringing the complete saga together in a single package and expanding beyond its VR roots, Moss: The Forgotten Relic offers both newcomers and longtime fans a new way to experience Quill’s unforgettable journey.

Moss: The Forgotten Relic launches on July 16, 2026, for Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. A playable Steam demo will be available beginning June 8.
