DOG WITCH Is a Dice-Fueled Deckbuilder Roguelike

Chaos Is Just a Bark Away

Developed by solo dev Heckmouse and published by Mystic Forge, DOG WITCH is a fast-paced, turn-based, dice-powered roguelike deckbuilder coming to Steam later this year. It blends quick, endlessly replayable runs with a healthy dose of strategic depth, cursed artifacts, and ridiculous enemies in a world that feels like Adventure Time had a magical accident with a D20.

The Setup? A Dog. A Witch. A Magical Mess.

In the bizarre world of DOG WITCH, a Mad Wizard accidentally bathes his loyal pup in arcane potions—next thing you know, the dog is upright, hat on, and hurling magic dice at everything in sight. It’s weird. It’s wild. It’s everything you didn’t know you needed in a roguelike.

Each run throws you into bite-sized battles where you’ll use dice rolls to activate spells, trigger relic effects, and unleash ridiculous synergies. With over 150 magical items (plus “corrupted” versions for extra risk and reward), there’s a seemingly endless number of combinations to discover. Whether you prefer planning out calculated strategies or rolling with the chaos, DOG WITCH rewards creativity, bold plays, and a love for experimentation.

What to Expect in DOG WITCH:

  • Dice-Powered Combat – Your dice rolls matter. Every throw determines your attacks, powers your spells, and can either make or break your strategy.

  • Endless Replayability – Quick runs, randomized upgrades, and millions of synergies mean no two playthroughs feel the same.

  • 150+ Items & Artifacts – Mix dog-themed spells, relics, and cursed gear to build the ultimate chaos engine.

  • Hilariously Weird Enemies – Battle Cat Ladies with a vengeance, armed Russian Dolls, creepy vending machines, and other off-the-wall foes.

  • Summon Your Squad – Call in laser ponies, gun-wielding rats, and skeleton bros to fight alongside you. Yes, really.

  • Multiple Playstyles – Unlock different Witch Hats, each with unique modifiers that shift how you play—and how you survive.

  • Customize Your Pup – Pick your fur, chonk level, bark, and more. Create your own pet or design something truly cursed.

Whether you’re a fan of Slay the Spire, Dicey Dungeons, or just love a good magical dog pun, DOG WITCH is shaping up to be the next cult favorite in the roguelike scene. It’s accessible, replayable, and just the right amount of unhinged.
