Publisher Curveball Games has teamed up with Argentinian developer Oxobox Game Studios to reveal Sente, a strategic tabletop-inspired game where up to six players face off in tactical battles built around simultaneous turns. The game is currently targeting a 2026 release, with a public demo launching on March 31.
Sente has been more than two decades in the making. Originally conceived as a pen-and-paper concept by the team at Oxobox, the idea gradually evolved into a fully realized digital strategy experience. At the core of the design is a unique simultaneous turn system that requires players to predict their opponents’ moves while planning their own.

Rather than waiting for turns to resolve one at a time, actions in Sente unfold simultaneously. Players must think several steps ahead, anticipate enemy strategies, and set up chain reactions on the board to gain the upper hand. The game’s grid-based battlefield allows for complex interactions between pieces, including pushes, explosions, and laser-based mechanics that can quickly turn the tide of a match.

The upcoming demo introduces players to the world of Sente through the setting of the Sente Bar, where newcomers will meet local characters and learn the fundamentals of the game’s strategic systems. It includes tutorial missions designed to help players understand the flow of gameplay and how simultaneous actions resolve.

Players will also be able to take on AI-controlled opponents in one-on-one or two-opponent matches. These encounters are designed to highlight different mechanics and strategic concepts that form the backbone of Sente’s gameplay.

Three AI challengers are featured in the demo. The TV Teacher introduces the basics, including energy flow, laser positioning, and beginner chain reaction strategies. The Claw offers two difficulty modes that encourage players to anticipate enemy moves and recover from mistakes. Meanwhile, the Challenge-Bot focuses on puzzle-style gameplay with 23 handcrafted challenges that test players’ understanding of the system through scenarios such as winning in a single turn or solving a board within a limited number of moves.

While multiplayer won’t be available in this initial demo, the developers say future testing phases will introduce player-versus-player modes as development continues.

The demo for Sente launches March 31, giving strategy fans an early chance to explore the game’s mechanics ahead of its planned 2026 release.
