Herobeat Studios is giving players a deeper look into Rewilders: The Lost Spring ahead of its upcoming playtest, which runs from November 12th to 19th, 2025. The studio released a brand-new gameplay video today, offering an overview of exploration, traversal, and combat in the open-world roguelite—alongside new story details and character teases.

The video breaks down the core mechanics behind Rewilders: The Lost Spring, which blends open-world exploration with roguelite progression, Metroidvania-style upgrades, and creature-collecting elements. Players will return to their airship—a floating home base—to rest, interact with rescued creatures known as Hântu, craft consumables and weapons, and grow plants that grant unique buffs. Traversal tools like the Hookshot and wall run can be earned by defeating bosses, expanding the ways players navigate the game’s vast biomes.

Herobeat Studios also announced the first Grasslands Playtest, running from November 12th to 19th through Steam’s Playtest feature. Players who sign up will gain early access to this limited testing phase and future playtests as development progresses. The team aims to work closely with the community during these sessions, gathering feedback as the game moves toward its Early Access launch on PC in 2026, with console versions planned for the future.

The Story

Along the way, she’ll uncover the remnants of a lost civilization, face enemies twisted by pollution, and rebuild life with the help of a mysterious being named Rif. Inspired by the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, Rewilders: The Lost Spring aims to combine ecological storytelling with emotional depth and visually stunning environments.
