Broken Bird movie posterSybil is a quiet, creative soul with an almost eerie affinity for death. As a mortuary assistant and avid taxidermist, she finds solace among the deceased—though it’s clear these relationships are more than they appear. Her childhood was shattered at age ten by a tragic accident that claimed her family, leaving Sybil adrift in loneliness and craving connection wherever she can find it  .

Her grief-fueled imagination begins to slip into delusion. Reality blurs as Sybil’s fascination with the dead turns increasingly dark—and disturbing. Her poetic sensibility and macabre hobbies tip into obsession, leading to a gothic, horrifying climax that leaves viewers simultaneously disturbed and mesmerized  .

Running parallel to Sybil’s story is Emma, a grieving police detective whose son has gone missing. Haunted by flashbacks and turning to alcohol for relief, Emma’s path eventually collides with Sybil’s in a way that’s as crucifying as it is inevitable. Through their intertwining, Broken Bird becomes more than horror—it’s a rumination on grief, obsession, and what it means to be broken  .
