The world of monster taming just got weirder—in the best way possible. Canadian indie studio Hatchery Games, made up of former Skylanders developers, revealed fresh gameplay for their upcoming title Voidling Bound during the Monster Taming Direct.
Touted by fans as a wild mix of Spore and Warframe, Voidling Bound lets you shape your creatures—called Voidlings—through branching evolution paths and DNA splicing. Every gene you collect can alter not only your monster’s look but also its combat style, opening the door to near-limitless builds and synergy-driven strategies.
The new trailer dives into the game’s splicing system, showing how players can experiment with their gene library to create the ultimate Voidling. It also introduces Gwigoon, a trickster creature that specializes in cloning itself, using its replicas to overwhelm enemies in battle.
Voidling Bound is set to launch on Steam in Q1 2026, with versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 arriving later down the line.
