The Fable Gets a Roguelike Deckbuilder PC and Switch Adaptation

Coming This November!

Kodansha is bringing its hit manga series The Fable into gaming with a brand-new adaptation, The Fable: Manga Build Roguelike, launching on November 5, 2025 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Developed by MONO ENTERTAINMENT, this unique deckbuilding roguelike blends tactical combat with the visual style of manga itself.

With more than 28 million copies sold worldwide and even a live-action film starring Jun’ichi Okada, The Fable is already a cultural heavyweight. Now, fans will get to experience the action in a whole new way—by collecting manga “scene cards” and arranging them into panels that dictate each character’s next move in battle.

Panels Become Combat

Gameplay is all about building the perfect sequence. Players can:

  • Strategize With Panels – Collect Attack, Defense, and Movement panels, then arrange them across pages to control how fights play out.

  • Fight Like the Pros – Step into the shoes of Akira, the deadly hitman; Yoko, who specializes in sneak attacks; and Suzuki, who can trap and debuff foes.

  • Damage the Page – Take hits and watch the manga page itself rip and tear as enemies strike back.

  • Puzzle Mode & Mini-Games – Tackle one-page tactical challenges or play through reimagined scenes from the manga, like Playboy Kawai’s sake-drinking contest.

Fresh Spin on a Beloved Series

“This game makes full use of the unique characteristics of manga while combining tactical puzzle elements with roguelike systems, creating a fresh new experience,” said mono, developer at MONO ENTERTAINMENT. “Not only will fans of the series enjoy it, but even those unfamiliar with the manga can feel the same tension and ingenuity of its battles.”
