Grab your snacks and gather your squad—because the internet’s chillest animal is about to cause some serious chaos on consoles. PM Studios has announced that Extremely Powerful Capybaras, the frantic roguelite bullet heaven that made waves on PC, is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on September 25, 2025.
If you’ve somehow missed it, this is the game where capybaras stop lounging in hot springs and start blasting hordes of enemies in over-the-top survival runs. Already a hit with PC players (thanks in part to its big Cursed Gardens update), the console release will bring all of that fur-fueled chaos to a new audience.
“Capybaras are one of the internet’s most beloved creatures…their chill energy resonates globally, and that’s exactly what inspired the game,” said Ami Blaire, CMO at PM Studios. “With Extremely Powerful Capybaras, the team cranked that unexpected charm into something wild, chaotic, and unforgettable.”
In practice, that means stepping into the paws of the world’s most relaxed (and unexpectedly powerful) rodent, then unleashing a storm of ridiculous weapons, evolutions, and abilities. You can roll solo or team up with up to three friends in local or online co-op, blasting through swarms of bipedal fish heads, zombies, and other bizarre foes. No two runs are alike thanks to randomized skills, capy-class builds, and the ability to stack upgrades into some truly absurd combinations.
