The regime has arrived. Multiverse has dropped the debut demo for Pax Autocratica, a unique blend of colony sim and FPS roguelite combat, available now on Steam. The full game is set to enter Early Access on PC in Q4 2025, but players can get an early taste starting today.
Hands-On at PAX West 2025
If you’re heading to PAX West (Aug. 29 – Sept. 1), you’ll be able to play an exclusive mid-game demo sequence at booth #856. This special preview drops you into a battle from level 4 of the Arch Building, giving convention-goers a different slice of the game’s satirical dystopia.
Build the State, Crush Rebellion
In Pax Autocratica, players take the mantle of supreme leader of the galaxy’s “most esteemed regime.” How you maintain control is up to you—through compassion, cruelty, or a calculated mix of both.
Back home, you’ll be tasked with constructing and automating infrastructure, managing salaries, healthcare, and working conditions, and handling civil unrest. Will you rely on surveillance towers and propaganda to keep the peace, or make brutal examples of rebels to assert dominance?
Roguelite Combat in the Cosmos
When the time comes to expand the State’s influence, you’ll form a battalion and dive into FPS roguelite expeditions. Battles are fast-paced and resource-driven:

Gather materials to strengthen your regime.

Recruit new citizens to the cause.

Collect Core Fragments that grant unique powers and change battle strategies.

Liberate (or subjugate) new worlds in the name of the State.
A Satire with a Message
While Pax Autocratica embraces dark humor and biting satire, the team at Multiverse is clear about their goals. Founder and CEO Freeman Fan explains:
“We’re building this game to let players interrogate power, not glorify it. Our systems reveal the incentives, trade-offs, and unintended consequences of authoritarian choices. We don’t lecture players—we want them to reflect, empathize, and see how societies can slide into authoritarianism… and how they might pull back.”
