Expect the Unexpected: Train Sim World 6 Pulls Into the Station

Rolling In This September!

All aboard—Train Sim World 6 officially launches on September 30, 2025 (or September 25 if you grab the Deluxe or Special Edition). Dovetail Games took the wraps off the next entry in their long-running sim series during today’s Dovetail Direct showcase, revealing new trains, routes, and features that push the experience further than ever. Pre-orders are live now across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Random Events Bring Unpredictable Journeys

This year’s big addition is the new random events system, which introduces signal delays, speed restrictions, and even train faults to keep players on their toes. These challenges are fully toggleable, meaning you can stick with a smooth run or opt for an unpredictable ride where anything can happen. No two services will ever feel exactly the same, and the game provides tools to help you troubleshoot and get moving again.

New Routes Across the Globe

True to tradition, Train Sim World 6 expands its rail map with three new flagship routes:

  • USA – NJ TRANSIT® takes players through the New Jersey suburbs, featuring both modern and aging trains.

  • UK – The stunning Riviera Line returns, often called one of Britain’s most beautiful stretches of track, and it brings the GWR brand back to the series.

  • Europe – Head to Germany to drive between Dresden and Leipzig, complete with freight, passenger, high-speed, and shunting services.

Deluxe & Special Editions Pack More Trains

The Deluxe Edition introduces three brand-new locomotives across all routes:

  • The fan-favorite CrossCountry Voyager

  • The dual-power ALP-45DP

  • The heavy-duty BR 294 Shunter

Meanwhile, the Special Edition includes everything from the Standard and Deluxe releases plus five bonus routes from past entries, adding countries like Austria, the Netherlands, and Wales to your collection.

Immersion Upgrades

Passenger immersion gets a boost with station and platform announcements now fully implemented across the three core routes. From arrival info to departure calls, the small details add even more realism to the experience.

Free Starter Pack & Future Content

Newcomers can jump in risk-free thanks to a Free Starter Pack, available at launch until November 11, 2025. It includes steam, diesel, and electric locomotives in the Training Center demo route with tutorials to help new players get rolling.

Dovetail also teased the future of Train Sim World 6 with add-ons in the works for Portugal, Czechia, the Tadami Line in Japan, and an additional U.S. route. As always, your existing routes and trains from past entries will carry over.
