A chilling new gameplay trailer has dropped for Ground Zero, an upcoming retro survival horror game set in the haunting ruins of Busan, South Korea. Developed by Malformation Games and published by Kwalee, this dark and atmospheric title blends classic survival horror vibes with a fresh, uniquely Korean twist.

Following a devastating meteor strike, Busan has been transformed into a nightmarish wasteland teeming with mutated horrors and hostile terrain. As the dust settles and the lightning storms fade, players take control of Seo-Yeon, an elite Korean operative, and her Canadian partner as they dive into the heart of the disaster to uncover the truth behind the catastrophe—and what’s still lurking in the fog.

The latest trailer showcases some of the brutal action awaiting players, from close-quarters combat and counterattacks to the eerie environments and grotesque enemies born from the impact’s mysterious fallout. Classic survival horror fans will feel right at home with Ground Zero’s fixed camera angles, pre-rendered backgrounds, puzzle-solving, and even optional tank controls.

    Key Highlights from Ground Zero:

    • Classic Survival Horror Vibes – Fixed cameras, puzzles, and slow-burning tension pay homage to genre legends like Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

    • Post-Apocalyptic Korea – Explore crumbling temples, fog-filled streets, and abandoned shorelines in a beautifully ruined Busan.

    • Combat That Counts – Shoot, stab, kick, and counter as a trained soldier. Cleaner kills mean more Genome Points for crucial upgrades.

    • Monstrous Bosses Await – Face down twisted mutations in the heart of the city that will push your skills—and your nerves—to the limit.

    • Secrets and Extras – Unlock bonus outfits, hidden endings, and additional modes for players who go the extra mile.

With its heavy atmosphere, relentless creatures, and striking Korean setting, Ground Zero is shaping up to be one of the most promising survival horror titles on the horizon.
