If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to cook for creatures straight out of British and Irish folklore—without becoming their next meal—Clumsy Bear Studio has you covered. Their upcoming culinary roguelite deckbuilder, Hungry Horrors, has just dropped its first playable demo on Steam, letting players step into the kitchen and serve up traditional dishes to legendary monsters.

Can You Satisfy Their Hunger—Or Will You Be the Main Course?
In Hungry Horrors, your deckbuilding and cooking skills are your only defense against an onslaught of monstrous patrons. Prepare authentic dishes, manage your resources wisely, and hope your culinary skills are enough to appease these legendary creatures. The game is set to launch first on PC (Steam, Itch, GOG), with plans for PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and mobile versions in the works.

    What’s Cooking in the Demo?

The Steam demo serves up an early taste of the action, featuring:

    • Two handcrafted biomes packed with eerie atmosphere
    • Six distinct horrors to feed—each with their own quirks and demands
    • Two boss fights to test your skills under pressure
    • Four unique NPCs to interact with and learn from
    • A variety of traditional dishes to cook and perfect
    • Non-combat rooms like the Nook, the Trove, and the Vendor to strategize between meals
