Indie publisher DreadXP is adding another spine-chilling title to its horror lineup, teaming up with Dark Machine Games to bring the highly anticipated first-person speed climbing horror game, White Knuckle, to Steam Early Access later this year.
Set within the decaying depths of SUB-STRUCTURE 17, White Knuckle blends momentum-based movement, survival horror, and high-stakes climbing into a uniquely terrifying experience. With 10,000 meters of concrete and ruin above you and an encroaching abyss below, every moment is a fight to ascend, survive, and escape.
Climb or Die – The Ascent Begins
Players take on the role of a lone climber, tasked with navigating the massive, crumbling megastructure that looms beneath the earth. With only their wits, precision, and a dwindling supply of tools, they must scale deteriorating walls, leap across deadly chasms, and dodge lurking horrors in the shadows.
While speed and momentum are key to survival, resource management is just as critical. Fumbling for an item at the wrong moment could mean a fatal slip, sending players plummeting into the abyss. Every region of White Knuckle introduces new hazards, from rusted industrial silos to flooded, rotting pipeworks, each teeming with hostile forces that grow more aggressive the higher you climb.
You Are Not Alone…
Something watches from the darkness. Strange creatures lurk within the walls, and as players climb higher, the horror intensifies. The very structure itself seems bent on their destruction, with environmental shifts and deadly surprises forcing constant adaptation.
- Precision Climbing Horror – Scale a vast underground ruin using momentum-based mechanics, precise platforming, and quick reflexes.
- Survival Against the Structure – Navigate collapsing walls, unpredictable hazards, and eerie, ever-changing environments.
- Limited Resources, High Stakes – Manage your inventory carefully—one misstep, one wrong decision, and it’s a long way down.
- Unseen Horrors Lurk – You’re not alone in SUB-STRUCTURE 17. Something is watching. Something is waiting.
