French indie developer Falling Leaves Studio is preparing to release its debut game, MyDear.exe, on November 2, 2026, for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A demo is already available, giving players an early look at the unusual narrative adventure.
Developed by a team that includes the former Game Director and Producer of The Rogue Prince of Persia, MyDear.exeputs a cozy spin on the Metroidvania formula. Described by the developers as a “Foldervania,” the game replaces traditional exploration with a fictional Windows XP-inspired computer interface filled with folders, files, photographs, notes, and other personal memories.

Players take on the role of Ellie as she explores a game created by Lucien as a tribute to their 57 years together. The various files and digital keepsakes reveal their shared history while providing clues to puzzles and passwords hidden throughout the experience.

The approximately two-hour adventure mixes humor, memories, puzzles, and mini-games inspired by retro games and the personalities of Ellie and Lucien. Players will need to explore the faux operating system and examine its contents to uncover everything Lucien has left behind.

The game also features fully voiced interactions between Ellie and Lucien, giving their conversations and personalities a larger role as Ellie discovers the experience Lucien created for her.

With its combination of nonlinear exploration, retro computer aesthetics, personal memories, and puzzle-solving, MyDear.exe offers a different take on the cozy adventure genre when it arrives this November.
