Nate Purkeypile, lead artist on Fallout 76 and a veteran developer whose credits include Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and BloodRayne 2, has opened the Steam playtest for his upcoming analog slasher game Gone Feral.
First revealed during the PC Gaming Show, Gone Feral is a co-op stealth roguelike inspired by classic 1980s horror movies. Players take on the role of a horror villain seeking revenge after being left for dead, stalking victims across locations inspired by familiar slasher settings, including suburban neighborhoods and summer camps.

Stealth plays a major role in the hunt. Players can hide in plain sight, use disguises to get closer to their targets, and turn everyday objects found throughout the environment into improvised weapons. Each encounter provides opportunities to approach an assassination in different ways.

The current playtest focuses on the single-player experience, while the full game will support online co-op, allowing players to hunt their victims alongside friends.

Adding to the retro horror atmosphere is a dark synthwave soundtrack from the composer behind The Axis Unseen. The combination of stealth mechanics, creative kills, disguises, and its 1980s-inspired presentation gives Gone Feral a distinctly slasher-focused take on the roguelike genre.
