Moravian Games and publisher Indieformer have released Feed the Scorchpot, a tabletop-inspired roguelike that challenges players to create increasingly powerful combinations, prepare elaborate meals, and keep a very opinionated dragon satisfied.

The premise is simple: enter into a 20-year contract with a dragon in exchange for its protection. The catch is that dinner must be served every single year. Fail to meet the dragon’s expectations and the chef could quickly become the main course.

Combining tabletop board game mechanics with modern roguelike progression, Feed the Scorchpot has players rolling dice to gather ingredients, discover recipes, and expand a hex-grid island into a massive scoring engine. Farms, shrines, harbours, and other buildings can interact with one another to create increasingly powerful combinations.

As the years pass, however, the dragon becomes increasingly demanding. Players must decide whether to end their contract early for greater rewards or risk pushing their luck and surviving all 20 years while dealing with increasingly difficult demands and unpredictable dragon tantrums.

There are more than 50 buildings to discover, over 80 recipes to master, and 20 different dice types that can be used to customize each run. Ingredients can be combined to generate Flavour, Essence, and Fodder, allowing players to build massive scoring chains and discover potentially game-breaking combinations.

The entire experience features a hand-drawn art style, with the buildings, ingredients, meals, and world all illustrated by hand. The result is a colorful setting that contrasts nicely with the rather unpleasant possibility of being eaten by your customer.

Feed the Scorchpot is the debut game from husband-and-wife development team Jakub and Daniela of Moravian Games, with Jakub handling programming while Daniela is responsible for design and art. The game is also the first published title from indie publisher Indieformer.
Feed the Scorchpot is available now on Steam for $14.99 USD, £13.75 GBP, or €14.99 EUR, with a 20% launch discount. Players can also pick up a special bundle featuring Feed the Scorchpot and the award-winning Balatro, bringing together dragons, jesters, and plenty of number-crunching.
