Publisher Kwalee and independent developer Maeth have released a brand-new demo for SPRAWL Zero, giving players their first opportunity to experience the upcoming cyberpunk shooter on Steam.
The demo includes the game’s opening two levels and introduces players to its signature Gravity Shield ability early in the second stage. This powerful cybernetic upgrade allows players to catch incoming projectiles and send them back at enemies, while also expanding movement and combat possibilities from the start.

Set in a gritty cyberpunk future inspired by the aesthetics and design philosophy of early 2000s shooters, SPRAWL Zeroputs players in the role of FIVE, a cybernetically enhanced supersoldier operating under the control of the ruling Junta. Tasked with eliminating SILAS, the leader of the radical techno-religious faction known as IMAGO-DEI, FIVE must navigate a city descending into chaos as multiple factions fight for control.

Drawing inspiration from genre-defining classics such as F.E.A.R. and Halo, SPRAWL Zero emphasizes tactical firefights as much as fast-paced action. Enemy forces communicate, coordinate flanking maneuvers, use suppressive fire, and deploy grenades to force players out of cover, creating encounters that require quick thinking and adaptability.

To overcome these threats, FIVE has access to a wide range of cybernetic abilities and an arsenal of more than 40 weapons. The Gravity Shield allows players to catch and return enemy gunfire, while Bullet-Time enables precise mid-air shot manipulation. Additional abilities such as Rushdown provide temporary invulnerability and devastating offensive power, encouraging aggressive and creative combat strategies.

Physics-based gameplay is a major focus throughout the experience. Gravity Gloves, Gravity Shield, and Rushdown work together to create multiple solutions for every encounter, allowing players to approach battles through direct combat, tactical positioning, or inventive use of environmental interactions.
The game’s handcrafted levels are designed around player choice, featuring multiple routes, vertical environments, and alternative paths that reward experimentation and replayability. Whether players prefer rushing headfirst into battle, taking a methodical approach from cover, or relying on advanced movement and physics mechanics, SPRAWL Zero aims to support a variety of playstyles.

Alongside its action-focused gameplay, the shooter embraces authentic Y2K-inspired visuals, a grounded cyberpunk atmosphere, detailed sound design, and an original soundtrack that pays tribute to the intense music of the early 2000s gaming era.
Players interested in experiencing the game ahead of release can download the SPRAWL Zero demo now on Steam.
