Fairy Mount Games, a newly formed independent studio founded by veteran developers Denis Comtesse and Blaze Zywiczynski, has officially announced Flame, Forest & Flood, a cozy three-player strategy game coming to Steam in Fall 2026. Revealed alongside its first announcement trailer, the title combines accessible gameplay with meaningful strategic depth, creating a multiplayer experience that welcomes newcomers while offering plenty for competitive players to master.
Built around the elemental forces of Flame, Forest, and Flood, the game places players in control of three eternal rivals: Adeer, the spirit of Forest, Herr Mitt, the guardian of Flood, and Blaze, the keeper of Flame. These elemental beings are locked in an endless cycle of competition, growth, and rebirth, with each match unfolding through player decisions rather than chance. Fairy Mount Games has designed the experience around simple rules that can be learned quickly, while hiding a surprising amount of tactical depth beneath its inviting presentation. Because there is no randomness involved, every victory and defeat is determined entirely by positioning, planning, and strategy.

The colorful world and approachable design draw inspiration from classic board games, focusing on territorial competition and meaningful choices that create engaging matches from start to finish. Whether playing against friends online, competing locally, or facing off against AI-controlled opponents, players will have multiple ways to enjoy the game’s unique three-way strategic battles.

The studio also emphasized its commitment to handcrafted development. With more than a decade of experience using the Godot engine, the team has built Flame, Forest & Flood around original ideas, open-source technology, and traditional game development practices. Fairy Mount Games has also stated that no generative AI was used during development, highlighting its dedication to the creative process behind every aspect of the project.

According to CEO Blaze Zywiczynski, the goal was to return to the fundamentals of strategy gaming by focusing on competition over territory and creating mechanics that are easy to understand yet rewarding to master. The result is a game designed to be welcoming for players of all ages and experience levels while maintaining the replayability and depth that strategy fans expect.

Players won’t have to wait until launch to try the game for themselves. A playable demo is planned for an upcoming Steam Next Fest, giving fans an opportunity to experience the elemental rivalry and strategic gameplay ahead of release.
Flame, Forest & Flood is scheduled to launch on Steam in Fall 2026 and is available to wishlist now.
