Mark your calendars, dragon slayers—Dragonkin: The Banished is finally getting its full release on March 19, 2026, across PC and consoles. Developer Eko Software and publisher NACON announced the date today alongside the opening of console pre-orders.
The action RPG has been in Steam Early Access for a while now, and the developers have been putting that time to good use. Based on community feedback, they’ve already added a new playable character, additional combat zones, and a host of improvements to the core experience. But if you think that’s all the game has to offer, think again—version 1.0 is bringing substantially more content to the table.

What’s Coming in the Full Release
The complete version will feature four full chapters to play through, each with distinct biomes and enemy types to keep combat fresh. You’ll be choosing from four unique heroes (up from the three currently available in Early Access), each paired with their own dragon companion. These dragonlings aren’t just for show—they provide passive bonuses and can unleash powerful active abilities when you need them most.

Deep Customization Through the Ancestral Grid
At the heart of Dragonkin’s progression system is the Ancestral Grid, a puzzle-like mechanic that lets you arrange skill fragments collected during your adventures. It’s all about creating synergies and optimizing your build to handle the game’s challenging enemy hordes. For theorycrafters and build enthusiasts, this system promises nearly endless possibilities.

Between missions, you’ll return to the City of Montescail, a central hub where you can access various services and fine-tune your strategy before heading back into battle.

The Story
The premise is straightforward but compelling: you’re a dragon hunter tasked with freeing humanity from invading draconic forces. It’s dragon versus dragon as you use your dragonling companion to fight back against the corruption spreading across the world. The full release will include not just the main story but also endgame content with challenging activities and epic boss battles.

Dragonkin: The Banished is available now in Early Access on Steam, with the full version launching March 19, 2026, on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
