Spiderling Studios has officially revealed The Broken Beyond, the next expansion for its beloved physics-based building game Besiege. Scheduled to arrive on Steam in Q2 2026, the add-on trades medieval battlefields for the vastness of space, challenging players to engineer machines capable of surviving — and thriving — beyond a planet’s atmosphere.

A Cosmic Twist on Creative Destruction
The Broken Beyond expands on the core sandbox formula by introducing a full space-themed campaign packed with new levels, block types, and gameplay mechanics. Players will need to master gravitational forces, orbital movement, and atmospheric entry while constructing spacecraft designed for both exploration and large-scale destruction.
The expansion also adds a massive moon-inspired sandbox environment where builders can test their creations, launch into orbit, and experiment with the dangers of low-gravity engineering.

New Tools for Interplanetary Mayhem
Among the biggest additions are specialized blocks built for propulsion and control, alongside a brand-new fuel system that reshapes how machines operate in space. Expect spherical worlds, unusual gravity fields, and physics-driven challenges that push creativity in entirely new directions.
Multiplayer returns as well, letting players clash with friends in low-gravity arenas, design custom levels with the in-game editor, and unleash chaos across alien star systems.

“A Medieval Space Program”
Project Lead Daniel Schmidt explained the team’s vision, noting that while plenty of space games already exist, Spiderling wanted to deliver something distinct. The expansion blends Besiege’s medieval engineering style with cosmic inspiration pulled from figures like Leonardo da Vinci and Jules Verne — even channeling a bit of “Space-Ork” energy.
The result? Think ramshackle ships assembled from wood, bolts, and rocket boosters — a medieval space program powered by imagination.

A Builder That Keeps Evolving
Since its full release in 2020, Besiege has remained a standout in the builder genre, thanks to its intuitive construction system and nearly limitless creative possibilities. Players have long enjoyed crafting elaborate war machines to topple castles, wipe out armies, and conquer sprawling campaign maps. With more than 70 blocks and robust multiplayer options, the game continues to attract engineers eager to test the limits of physics.
Besiege: The Broken Beyond will be available as a standalone expansion for existing players, while newcomers can grab a bundle that includes the base game.
