Curve Games and developer Turtle Juice have officially unveiled MECHBORN, an upcoming roguelike deckbuilder that puts a fresh spin on the genre by turning your mech itself into the deck. Drawing inspiration from classic ’90s mech anime and Greek mythology, MECHBORN challenges players to build, customize, and synchronize towering machines of war in a fight to defend Earth’s colonies from a relentless Kaiju invasion.
In MECHBORN, humanity stands on the brink of annihilation. Endless Kaiju attacks threaten Earth’s survival, and only one organization has the power to resist. TITANCORE creates the MECHBORN—elite pilots who undergo a dangerous mech-synchronization process, unlocking the skills needed to pilot advanced war machines and push back the invading hordes.

Unlike traditional deckbuilders, MECHBORN reimagines the formula by making your mech your deck. Players freely mix and match mech parts, unlocking new cards as they go, while also recruiting pilots with distinct abilities and backstories. Together, pilots and mechs form powerful synergies that can dramatically change how each run unfolds. Your journey spans three expansive, ever-changing continents as you carve a path through enemies to protect humanity’s last strongholds.

One of MECHBORN’s most distinctive mechanics is its Conveyor Belt system, which replaces the standard hand of cards. Instead of drawing and holding cards, players begin each turn with seven cards moving through a conveyor. Every card played is instantly replaced, forcing constant forward planning, careful positioning, and smart sequencing. Mastering this system means learning how to chain pilot abilities, align support cards, and unleash devastating combo attacks at just the right moment.

Lead Designer Ernani Rocha explains that this system is central to the game’s identity: MECHBORN is designed to challenge how players think on a moment-to-moment basis, pushing them to adapt continuously rather than rely on static strategies.

Key Features
-
Pilots With Personality: Choose from 12 unique pilots, each with their own skills and narrative background. Pairing specific pilots with certain mechs can unlock powerful, run-defining synergies.
-
Adaptive Exploration: There are no fixed paths. Players can move and fight in any direction across three large continents, but fuel is limited—poor planning could leave a pilot stranded and vulnerable.
-
Endless Build Options: Customize your mech by mixing and matching parts to add new cards to your deck, or complete full sets to gain valuable bonuses.
-
Conveyor Belt Combat: A constantly shifting card system that replaces traditional hands, rewarding positioning, foresight, and creative combo-building.

MECHBORN is planned to launch on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 in late 2026. For players eager to see the concept in action, a pre-alpha demo is available right now on Itch.io, offering an early glimpse at its ambitious mechanics and distinctive style.
If you’re a fan of deckbuilders looking for something that breaks the mold—or if giant mechs and mythological flair are your thing—MECHBORN is one to keep firmly on your radar.
