The cult-favorite action-RPG is back and better than ever. Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster has officially launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, marking the triumphant return of one of indie RPG’s most beloved sagas. Developed by Spain-based Anima Project, this definitive edition unites both Anima: Gate of Memories and The Nameless Chronicles in a single package, complete with overhauled visuals, refined gameplay systems, and rebalanced combat designed for modern platforms. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also on the horizon, set to arrive in 2026.

    A Reimagined Classic

Originally released to critical acclaim for its deep lore and stylish action, Anima: Gate of Memories blends fast-paced third-person combat with rich storytelling inspired by the Anima: Beyond Fantasy tabletop RPG universe. In this remaster, players experience both intertwined narratives: one following a mysterious girl known only as The Bearer of Calamities, and the other chronicling the cursed immortal known as The Nameless.

As their paths cross, players uncover a dark, interconnected tale of memory, destiny, and conflict — all told through branching storylines where your choices truly matter.

    What’s New in the Remaster

    • Two Games, One Saga: Experience Anima: Gate of Memories and The Nameless Chronicles together, both fully rebuilt for next-gen systems.

    • A Dual Narrative: See the events of the story unfold from two perspectives — two heroes, two destinies, and one massive world shaped by your decisions.

    • Rebalanced Combat: Engage in lightning-fast battles that fuse real-time action with RPG depth. Master combos, skills, and devastating special abilities.

    • Dual System & The Hand of Tanathos: Instantly swap between characters in battle or, as The Nameless, wield the power of Death itself.

    • A World Forged from Memories: Explore a hauntingly beautiful, interconnected realm filled with secrets, lore, and creatures born from forgotten dreams.

    Collector’s Edition Details

Fans who prefer to own their games physically can thank SelectaPlay for making it happen. The PlayStation 5 edition comes in two versions — Standard and Collector’s Edition. The latter includes:

    • A premium collector’s box

    • Physical PS5 copy with illustrated manual

    • Artbook

    • Original soundtrack on CD

    • Collector’s pin and keychain

    • Four character cards and two art prints

    A Labor of Love

Developed by a dedicated three-person team, this remaster is more than a simple upgrade — it’s a story of perseverance. After losing access to their original publishing revenue, Anima Project decided to completely rebuild their games, ensuring players could experience their vision as intended. Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster stands as both a thank-you to longtime fans and a fresh invitation for newcomers to step into the world of Gaia.
