Crude jokes, pixel nostalgia, and plenty of monsters to slay — The Edge of Allegoria has officially landed on Nintendo Switch. Originally released on PC in December 2025 to glowing reviews, the turn-based RPG from Button Factory Games and CobraTekku Games (CTG) is now available on the Nintendo eShop for $24.99 / €24.99 / £22.49. The game is also fully verified for Steam Deck, making it perfect for on-the-go adventuring.

At its core, The Edge of Allegoria is a love letter to Game Boy-era RPGs — only with way more swearing. Players take on the role of a man in the midst of a midlife crisis, who sets out across the dangerous, magical land of Allegoria. Along the way, he’ll uncover its dark history, battle monsters, and master a system that lets skills permanently transfer from weapon to weapon.

The game world is massive, featuring:
-
145 monster types
-
41 bosses
-
31 dungeons
-
6 divine beings waiting in their own overworld domains

With 96 weapons to find and master, combat rewards experimentation and persistence. The more you fight with a weapon, the more its skills and stats become part of your character — encouraging players to seek out every blade, staff, and hammer the game has to offer.

Wrapped in a striking monochrome art style, The Edge of Allegoria mixes nostalgic retro vibes with modern twists and an unapologetically foul-mouthed sense of humor.

If you grew up with handheld RPGs in the ‘80s and ‘90s, this one might just scratch that old-school itch — only with more absurdity packed into every battle.
The Edge of Allegoria is available now on Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck, with PC players able to grab it via Steam.
