Indie studio Cosmoscouts, together with publishing platform indie.io, has announced that their visually striking sci-fi adventure Moon Mystery is making the leap to consoles on September 18, 2025. The game, which first launched on PC in October 2024 after a successful Kickstarter campaign, will now arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Xbox players can even pre-order today to be ready for day one.

Moon Mystery begins with a lone astrogeologist stranded on the Moon after mysteriously losing contact with Earth. With only T.O.B.Y.—a loyal AI companion—to guide you, survival quickly spirals into something far greater. Players will battle rogue technology, uncover ancient lunar ruins, and traverse hostile alien worlds that push the boundaries of exploration.
Expect shifting gravity on strange planets, a sprawling orbital city hanging in the void, and even the surreal pull of a black hole. The game seamlessly blends first-person shooting, environmental puzzles, and vehicle-based gameplay—with vehicles ranging from lunar rovers and submarines to spacecraft moving freely in three dimensions.

At its core, Moon Mystery is a story-driven FPS adventure about discovery and survival. Along the way, you’ll master zero-gravity combat, experiment with over 100 weapon attachments, and use a diverse set of vehicles to navigate across alien environments. The game’s handcrafted narrative evolves with each new location, ensuring that every step forward feels like uncovering another layer of humanity’s cosmic future.
From Passion Project to Indie Studio
Moon Mystery started as a solo after-hours project in Warsaw but quickly gained traction through Kickstarter and the support of indie.io. That success helped Cosmoscouts grow into a small independent Polish studio, still guided by the same indie spirit that fueled its beginnings: making a deeply personal, ambitious, and story-rich sci-fi game.
