Yogscast Games is back with another quirky twist on genre mashups, this time blending medieval mischief with high-stakes roguelike action. Dicealot, a dice-building roguelike where risk and luck fuel every battle, is officially set to launch on October 9, 2025 via Steam.
Set in a medieval world with a tongue-in-cheek Camelot vibe, Dicealot isn’t your typical dungeon crawl. Instead of swords and shields, victory depends on the roll of the dice. At its core, the game builds on classic Farkle mechanics—every turn tempts you to push your luck for bigger rewards, but one bad roll and your entire score can vanish in a flash.
The hook? Combining dice-building strategy with good old-fashioned gambling nerves. Between duels with eccentric medieval foes, you’ll swing by merchants to stock up on new Quest Dice, Power Dice, Vassals, and other upgrades to boost your chances. But with only one shop stop before each new encounter, you’ll need to carefully weigh whether you want extra health, score multipliers, or that one roll-saving reroll.
Each run throws you into seven quests packed with quirky boss fights and Monty Python-esque characters. One match might have you squaring off against a bumbling knight, the next a mischievous green giant. The pixel-styled visuals and comedic charm keep things light, even when a bad roll leaves you “Farkled” and sent back to square one.
Yogscast Games’ Managing Director Simon Byron puts it best: “Dicealot has a unique ability to get its hooks into you and tempt you into one more game. Its simple pick-up-and-play mechanics draw you in, and before you know it you’ll be up all night devising new strategies, combining new Quest Dice and Vassals as you get Farkled over and over again.”
Whether you’re here for the comedy, the strategy, or the thrill of chasing that perfect roll, Dicealot promises a roguelike dice-builder with bite.
