The cult hit Slain: Back From Hell is rising again, and it’s louder, bloodier, and beastlier than ever. Silver Lining Interactive and Steel Mantis have unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Slain 2: The Beast Within during The MIX Fall Showcase, giving fans a taste of its metal-fueled carnage ahead of its 2026 launch on PC via Steam.

The trailer showcases fast, brutal swordplay, gothic world design, and the return of Bathoryn — the sentient sword whose legend cuts across galaxies. But this time, the battle isn’t just steel against flesh. Players step into the cursed boots of Prince Akran, last of the Wolf Knights, who carries the power (and burden) of transforming into a monstrous werewolf under the full moon.

What Awaits in Slain 2: The Beast Within
-
Ferocious Combat – Unleash devastating melee combos, parries, and elemental powers with Bathoryn’s fiery, icy, and arcane forms.
-
The Wolf Knight’s Curse – Shift between human and beast forms mid-fight, tearing through enemies with unmatched ferocity.
-
Three Doomed Quests – Recover The Eye, The Heart, and The Dagger across interwoven storylines filled with new enemies and environments.
-
Nightmare Foes – Face abyssal warlocks, vengeful witches, and the champions of Lord Vroll’s corrupted dominion.
-
A Gothic World in Decay – From corpse-strewn streets to cursed catacombs, the pixel art oozes atmosphere, all backed by a crushing heavy metal soundtrack.

With its mix of precision swordplay, grotesque foes, and blood-soaked metal riffs, Slain 2: The Beast Within looks ready to deliver an unapologetically savage action-platformer experience.

The game is set to launch on Steam in 2026. If you’re ready to rise with the Wolf Knights — or be consumed by the darkness — you can wishlist it now.
