Springloaded’s upcoming game dev simulator Let’s Build a Dungeon has officially passed 140,000 Steam wishlists, and to celebrate, the team has released a brand-new breakdown video showcasing the game’s four distinct modes.
Coming to PC and Xbox, Let’s Build a Dungeon blends management sim depth with creative sandbox tools, offering something for both strategy lovers and aspiring game makers.
Four Ways to Play
At its core, Let’s Build a Dungeon gives players the chance to step into the shoes of both CEO and Game Designer, managing a studio while also shaping the worlds and dungeons of their dream MMORPG. But with four different modes, the experience can be as intense or as relaxed as you want:
-
Campaign Mode – The full management sim experience. Hire (or fire) staff, deal with investors, and face tough choices on topics like crunch and AI. Navigate branching storylines and studio-defining events while trying to build the next big hit.
-
Just Build Mode – A lighter, more creative experience for up to four players online. Skip the management stress and focus on crafting worlds using a deck-building system that keeps things fun and approachable.
-
Creative Mode – A sandbox packed with accessible tools. Build anything from cozy RPGs to massive dungeon crawlers by writing dialogue, creating cutscenes, tweaking mechanics, and drawing your own sprites. Share your creations and playtest with friends.
-
Dungeoneering – A hub for community-made games. Explore curated adventures from players around the world, plus exclusive creations from the Springloaded team.
True-to-Life, Satirical, and Creative
Springloaded describes Let’s Build a Dungeon as a “true-to-life depiction” of running a game studio—complete with investor pressure, workplace dilemmas, and the moral choices behind development. At the same time, the game doubles as a platform for collaboration and storytelling, letting players craft their own adventures or team up with friends to build games together.
A demo is live now on Steam, featuring Twitch integration and branching narratives, and is playable in multiple languages including English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and more.
