Ratalaika Games and solo indie developer Diedermor Studio are thrilled to unveil their upcoming game, Unlife, set to launch on March 1, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. In this dark post-apocalyptic world, survivors navigate the Black Ocean on a World War II submarine, facing terrifying creatures and unraveling a compelling storyline.

Unlife seems like a simple 2D platformer at first, challenging players to overcome obstacles, explore underwater realms, and battle monstrous foes. However, the game offers depth with a unique twist. Players control a large submarine and a smaller one, collecting debris to craft essential survival items. Defeating creatures provides genetic material for curing the protagonist’s disease, impacting the game’s outcome.

The player’s initial goal is to reach an old submarine on a sea platform, leading to exploration of sunken oceanic stations, abandoned ships, and nightmarish underground subways. Encounter formidable entities like mutant humans, colossal krakens, and abyssal monsters, all while strategically defeating them to obtain DNA for a cure.

Unlife’s narrative unfolds linearly, but the game boasts two possible endings based on the player’s ability to cure the protagonist of the internal parasite. With its dark atmosphere, hand-drawn graphics, dynamic gameplay, and themed soundtrack, Unlife promises an intense post-apocalyptic experience.
