Digital Lighthouse Games has unveiled Encryption, its debut title, during the Galaxies Gaming Showcase. This first-person psychological horror adventure combines exploration, puzzles, and stealth with cinematic storytelling and highly detailed environments inspired by real locations in southern Italy.

The story follows Leonardo, a father desperately searching for his missing daughter, Arianna, as wildfires spread across southern Italy. His search takes him to Matera, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. With its streets abandoned and the fires closing in, Leonardo ventures beneath the city, where something far more dangerous awaits.

Players must investigate their surroundings, solve puzzles tied to ancient mysteries, and evade supernatural entities lurking in the darkness. Sound plays a critical role in survival, as enemies are drawn to the noises players make. With limited options for confronting these threats directly, careful exploration and stealth are essential.

Digital Lighthouse Games is using its expertise in 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry to recreate Matera and the surrounding Italian landscape. Built in Unreal Engine, the environments combine real-world architectural details with cinematic lighting and motion-captured animation to create an immersive horror experience.

Featuring fully voiced dialogue and cinematic sequences, Encryption promises a layered narrative involving loss, destruction, and supernatural mysteries, with multiple stories waiting to be uncovered.
