Mythwright has announced that Thronefall will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 11, alongside the release of Craaghelm, the game’s first major DLC expansion. The Xbox version will also be available through Xbox Game Pass.
Thronefall challenges players to build their kingdom by day and defend it by night, balancing economic growth with military defenses. Players construct fortifications, recruit troops, manage resources, and join the fight themselves as waves of enemies attempt to overrun their kingdom.
The Craaghelm expansion takes players into the mountains as the last Dwarven King, where they must reclaim their ancestral halls from a powerful mechanical army known as the Constructs. The expansion introduces eight new maps featuring hazards such as moving platforms, lava streams, and blocked chokepoints that require players to adapt their strategies.
New units expand the forces available to players, including Axe Throwers capable of attacking both ground and airborne enemies, as well as Automatons and Airships. Players can also call upon new allies such as the Technician, Siege Engineer, and Dwarven Spirit Warriors.
The expansion introduces several new enemy types as well. The massive Clockwork Oliphaunt can crush anything in its path, while Loot Goblins and Leap Bots threaten the player’s economy in different ways.
New weapons and perks give players additional options for defending their kingdoms. The Dragon’s Roar provides a powerful close-range option, while the dual-shield Twin Bastions offer a defensive alternative. New perks include spiked walls that protect economic buildings and healing hot springs that restore health during battles.
Craaghelm also adds gameplay-modifying mutators that can alter the battlefield with effects such as volcanic ash, boulders, and natural disasters, creating additional challenges for experienced players.
The expansion will be available as paid DLC on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on November 11. The base game is required to play Craaghelm.
Thronefall has sold more than two million copies since its original release and is currently available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will launch on November 11, with the Xbox version also joining Xbox Game Pass.
