Rubeki, developer of the cult hit Lorn’s Lure, has announced The Hollowing, an atmospheric first-person horror flight simulator set in the same universe. Revealed during the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026, the game puts players behind the controls of a small aircraft as they travel between airports and remote outposts scattered across a vast, mist-shrouded Megastructure.

Described as Iron Lung meets Flight Simulator, The Hollowing combines the challenges of piloting a delicate aircraft with an unsettling journey through an oppressive and mysterious world. Players will be responsible for maintaining inter-settlement communications towers, traveling from station to station while uncovering the secrets hidden within the Megastructure.

The game takes place in the same universe as Lorn’s Lure, which has sold more than 60,000 copies. Players will once again be exploring a world filled with strange environments and unanswered questions, but this time from the cockpit of an aircraft. With no one alongside them, the only company during each journey comes from the voice on the other end of the radio.

Flying will require players to master takeoffs, landings and navigation while managing their aircraft across the Megastructure. The journey between settlements is more than simply getting from one location to another, with the isolated nature of each flight adding to the game’s horror atmosphere.

Rubeki has partnered with publisher Future Friends Games, known for titles including CloverPit, Slots & Daggers and The Cabin Factory. The Hollowing is scheduled to launch on Steam later this year, while a free demo is now available for players who want an early look at the game.
