BeamNG.drive is bringing its detailed vehicle physics and open-world driving simulation to PlayStation 5 on October 19, 2026. The console version launches in Early Access alongside the ongoing PC version, with development continuing based on player feedback.
At the heart of BeamNG.drive is its soft-body physics engine, which simulates the components of each vehicle in real time. This allows vehicles to respond realistically to collisions and other physical forces, including detailed deformation and damage.

PS5 players will have access to dozens of customizable vehicles, ranging from compact cars to large trucks. Wheels, suspension, engines, and other components can be adjusted to create different driving setups and experiences.

The game features 12 open-world environments spanning tropical jungles, deserts, urban areas, highways, and other terrain. Free Roam gives players an open sandbox where they can explore these environments, manipulate objects and environmental conditions, and even experiment with variables such as wind speed and gravity.

For players looking for a more structured experience, Career Mode offers progression from starting out with an inexpensive vehicle to building a collection of higher-end cars and trucks. Scenarios provide additional challenges, including deliveries, police pursuits, and time trials that put the game’s physics and driving mechanics to the test.

The PS5 release will arrive around the same time as the v0.40 update for the PC version. The update introduces a new vehicle from launch, local split-screen support, FSR 3 support on the standard PS5, and PSSR support on PS5 Pro. BeamNG.drive also continues to receive free updates every few months with new features, improvements, and fixes.

Mod support will not be available on PlayStation at launch. While the developers are exploring the possibilities of supporting mods on console, the timing and scope have not yet been confirmed. Mod-authoring tools such as the World Editor are also not currently planned for PlayStation.

BeamNG.drive is currently available in Early Access on PC via Steam, with the PlayStation 5 version launching October 19, 2026.
