Zugalu Entertainment has revealed Isles of Innsmouth, a minimalist city-building strategy game that blends cozy settlement building with Lovecraftian horror. The game is coming to Windows PC via Steam, although its release date has yet to be revealed.
In Isles of Innsmouth, players build settlements across procedurally generated islands while attempting to appease the mysterious Elder Gods. Buildings are placed from available cards, with different structures creating synergies that can increase your score and unlock new islands and construction options.

The game keeps its city-building mechanics intentionally simple, with no complicated economies or resource management to worry about. More than 60 different structures can be discovered, allowing players to experiment with different combinations while gradually expanding their settlements.

For players who would rather focus on creativity than competition, Creative Sandbox Mode removes the pressure of scoring and lets players simply build and enjoy the game’s atmospheric combination of gloomy New England fishing villages and cosmic horror. Procedurally generated islands and unique card orders ensure each playthrough offers a different challenge, while shared seeds allow players to compete for high scores using the same layouts.

Isles of Innsmouth also includes a Photo Mode that gives players control over the camera, lighting, and weather effects, making it possible to capture their settlements from the perfect angle. An original gloomy ambient soundtrack rounds out the experience, creating a relaxing atmosphere beneath the game’s unsettling Lovecraftian themes.

Isles of Innsmouth is currently in development for Windows PC and will be available through Steam. The release date will be revealed at a later time.
