Fans of classic sci-fi horror games have a new title to watch as developer Visuwyg and publisher Hyperstrange have unveiled DERELIKT, a narrative-driven retro first-person shooter inspired by the atmosphere and design philosophy of late ’90s survival horror. Scheduled to launch on PC later this year, the game combines the unsettling aesthetics of the original PlayStation era with modern controls and quality-of-life improvements.

As you venture deeper into the station, you’ll uncover dark secrets while navigating abandoned laboratories, crew quarters, and twisting corridors that become increasingly dangerous the farther you explore.

Exploration plays a central role as players search for limited supplies, solve environmental puzzles, and unlock new areas throughout the sprawling facility. More than a dozen surviving NPCs inhabit the station, each with their own motivations, conflicting accounts of recent events, and hidden agendas. Deciding who to trust—or whether to trust anyone at all—will become part of the experience.

Combat emphasizes survival over empowerment, with ammunition, health, and inventory space all requiring careful management. Players will have access to a variety of both conventional and alien weaponry, but every encounter forces meaningful decisions as resources remain scarce. Rather than delivering an action-focused power fantasy, DERELIKTaims to create constant tension through deliberate pacing and an oppressive atmosphere.

Inspired by classics such as System Shock 2, Alien Resurrection, and Doom 3, the game embraces the distinctive look of early 3D horror titles. Its visual style recreates PlayStation-era graphics through warped textures, hand-painted vertex colors, dynamic subdivision, and full-motion CGI cutscenes, delivering an authentic retro presentation while retaining modern gameplay conveniences.

DERELIKT is currently scheduled to launch on PC later this year.
