Steel Mantis and Silver Lining Interactive have announced that Slain 2: The Beast Within will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S alongside its previously announced PC release on Steam. The gothic hack-and-slash sequel continues the heavy metal-inspired action of the original game while introducing brutal new combat mechanics, a playable werewolf form, and a dark fantasy world filled with monstrous enemies.
To celebrate the multi-platform announcement, the developers have released a new animated trailer showcasing the game’s signature heavy metal aesthetic and fast-paced combat. Players eager to experience the action ahead of launch can also download a newly released playable demo on Steam, offering an early look at the game’s combat and exploration.

Collectors will also have something to look forward to, as a physical PlayStation 5 edition has been confirmed alongside the digital release. The boxed version will be available at retail, giving fans the opportunity to add the game to their physical collections. Pre-orders are now open through Silver Lining Direct and participating retailers, with pricing set at £19.99, $24.99, and €24.99.

In Slain 2: The Beast Within, players take on the role of Prince Akran, the final member of the legendary Wolf Knights. Wielding the sentient sword Bathoryn, Akran must battle the demonic armies of Lord Vroll while searching for sacred relics that can halt the world’s descent into darkness. When conventional weapons aren’t enough, players can embrace Akran’s curse, transforming into a ferocious werewolf capable of tearing through enemies with devastating speed and power.

The sequel features fast-paced hack-and-slash combat that combines melee attacks with elemental abilities powered by Bathoryn. Players will explore handcrafted environments that range from haunted castles and ghost-filled seas to the depths of a dark abyss, each filled with challenging enemies and hidden secrets. Along the journey, they’ll face powerful bosses including ancient spirits, witches, warlocks, and grotesque monsters in a series of intense battles.

Slain 2: The Beast Within is currently in development for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Steam demo is available now, while a physical PlayStation 5 edition will launch alongside the digital release.
