Space simulation fans have plenty to look forward to as developer Egosoft has officially announced that the highly anticipated 9.00 Empire Update for X4: Foundations will launch on June 10. The announcement was accompanied by a brand-new trailer showcasing many of the additions and improvements arriving in the free update.
The 9.00 Empire Update continues Egosoft’s commitment to expanding and refining its deep space sandbox experience. Designed to make the galaxy feel more dynamic and engaging than ever, the update introduces a variety of gameplay enhancements that impact combat, mining, fleet management, and station building.
One of the biggest changes comes through a major combat overhaul. Weapons, ships, shields, and NPC artificial intelligence have all received extensive balancing adjustments, creating more strategic and rewarding battles throughout the galaxy. Whether commanding a massive fleet or piloting a single vessel, players can expect a more polished combat experience.
The update also expands ship customization options with additional loadout variety and visual upgrades. Players will be able to showcase their favorite vessels using the newly introduced Ship Showroom station module, offering a dedicated space to display prized ships within their growing empire.
Mining operations are receiving a substantial overhaul as well. New dynamic mining systems aim to make resource gathering more engaging and efficient, opening up fresh opportunities for industrial-focused players looking to expand their economic influence.
Another notable addition is the introduction of a new resource known as Allographyne. Players can obtain this material through Kha’ak wreck processing, creating additional avenues for resource management and production within the game’s economy.
Quality-of-life improvements round out the update, including enhancements to the map interface and other visual upgrades designed to improve navigation and overall usability across the game’s vast universe.
