Game Source Entertainment (GSE) has announced that THANKS, LIGHT., a 3D puzzle-platformer inspired by portal-style gameplay and built around light-and-shadow manipulation, is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam in September 2026. Ahead of release, players can jump into a free demo available now on Steam, with the game also joining Steam Next Fest beginning June 15.

Developed by South Korean indie studio Lightersgames, THANKS, LIGHT. challenges players to solve environmental puzzles through a unique mechanic that transforms objects between two-dimensional and three-dimensional states. Armed with a flashlight, players navigate surreal liminal spaces where shadows become tangible tools for exploration and progression.

The upcoming Steam Next Fest demo arrives with a substantial content update that expands the experience well beyond previous builds. Players will be able to explore an all-new Chapter 3 alongside the existing first two chapters, introducing more advanced geometric challenges and physics-based puzzle design.

The update also delivers several quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback. Known issues have been addressed to create a smoother puzzle-solving experience, while a new subtitle toggle option gives players greater control over accessibility preferences. In addition, newly implemented background music aims to enhance the game’s atmospheric environments and immersive tone.

With its creative blend of perspective-shifting mechanics, dimensional puzzles, and minimalist liminal-world aesthetic, THANKS, LIGHT. is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing puzzle-platformers featured during Steam Next Fest. Players interested in testing their problem-solving skills can download the updated demo when the event begins and wishlist the game ahead of its September release.
