Developer Cloth Cat Games and indie publisher Curveball Games have officially released the Steam Next Fest demo for Planted!, giving players an early opportunity to experience the upcoming multiplayer gardening combat game before its full launch on PC and consoles.
Available now on Steam, the demo invites players to step onto the allotment, grab their gardening tools, and compete in chaotic matches where growing crops is only part of the challenge. Whether playing solo or with friends, players will need to harvest, defend, sabotage, and score points in a battle to become the ultimate gardening champion.

The demo showcases two of the game’s arenas and gameplay modes. The first is a free-for-all 1v1v1v1 allotment match where players compete to grow the best produce—or steal it from their rivals—and toss it into the back of a truck to earn points. The second mode shifts to a team-based 2v2 experience, tasking players with launching fruits and vegetables into their opponents’ goal while defending their own using special turrets and protective scarecrows.

Blending elements of harvest simulators, party games, and sports titles, Planted! encourages players to think strategically while embracing complete chaos. Fertilizer can be used to grow massive crops worth more points, opponents’ harvests can be stolen, and weed bombs can be deployed to disrupt rival gardeners and halt their progress entirely.

Following a successful closed playtest, the development team is eager to see players jump into the action. Senior Publishing Manager Ed Gregory of Curveball Games said the team is excited to let players experience the multiplayer fun and take their first steps onto the allotment through the new demo.

Creative Producer Ben Cawthorne of Cloth Cat Games described Planted! as a passion project inspired by the social experiences of classic multiplayer favorites such as Bomberman and Gang Beasts. The team hopes players will enjoy discovering the many competitive and cooperative moments available across the game’s arenas.

When the full game launches, players can expect a variety of gameplay options and features. Matches support up to four players, with both solo and multiplayer experiences available. Players will be able to experiment with different strategies, utilize environmental hazards and special abilities, and compete across eight unique arenas featuring their own challenges and layouts. A colorful cast of characters will also be available, each bringing their own personality and style to the garden battlefield.

Planted! is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Physical editions are also planned for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
